7 in 10 Professionals in India Tried to Switch Jobs in the Past Year
68% of professionals in India say they’ve attempted to change jobs in the past 12 months, according to a new survey by Blind, an anonymous community app for professionals. The survey collected responses from 2,712 verified professionals between May 7–20, 2025.
The companies with the highest share of employees actively job hunting include Goldman Sachs (85%), Freshworks (81%), LinkedIn (80%), SAP (80%), Expedia Group (79%), Amazon (78%), Samsung Electronics (77%), Flipkart (76%), Sprinklr (70%), and PayPal (69%).
Looking ahead, the trend intensifies. 82% of Indian professionals say they plan to look for a new job within the next year.
The leading reason for seeking a new job was better pay at 44%, followed by toxic workplaces or layoff fears at 30%, and career growth opportunities at 22%.
One verified Amazon professional wrote on Blind, “you wouldn’t get a better behind the scenes about Amazon’s pathetic state of affairs and culture. All employees I know are desperate to leave.” A Goldman Sachs professional said, “Crappy manager, bad WLB, and more $$$.”
Workplace toxicity was a key push factor at companies such as Atlassian, InMobi, SAP, Amazon, Salesforce, Adobe, Uber, Cohesity, Intuit, and Freshworks. Meanwhile, at Intel Corporation, Veritas Software, Expedia Group, Cohesity, Intuit, LinkedIn, Sprinklr, PayPal, Microsoft, and Media.net, job insecurity and potential layoffs were top concerns.
When asked, “would you work at this company?”, the top destinations Indian professionals aspire to include Infineon Technologies, NVIDIA, Netflix, Google, Block, Elastic, GitHub, BCG, Bain & Company, and Slack.
Compared to global responses, 66% of professionals worldwide said they tried changing jobs in the past year, which is slightly lower than India’s 68%. However, forward-looking intent is where Indian professionals stand out: 82% plan to job hunt in the next 12 months, compared to just 68% globally.
Methodology
Blind conducted a survey on its platform from May 7 to May 20, 2025, collecting responses from 2,712 verified professionals. The survey asked about their recent job change experiences and future job search plans.
Respondents were presented with the following questions:

- India: Yes – 82%, No – 9%, Not sure – 10%

- If you answered “Yes” to either of the previous questions, why did you (or why would you) want to change jobs?
- Higher salary and better benefits: India – 44%, Global – 29%
- Toxic work environment: India – 15%, Global – 22%
