The freeze continues
Google continues to slow its hiring. The tech giant has extended its two-week hiring freeze for at least another week, but most people assume it will continue for the rest of the year. The company is also allegedly not hiring open roles left by employees who have left.

Groupon laid off more than 500 people or 15% of its 3,000-plus employees. People in engineering, product, marketing, merchant development, recruiting and sales lost their jobs.
