Microsoft fights back
Microsoft will increase its stock ranges by at least 25% and nearly double its global budget for merit raises. In more good news: The new pay policy applies to all employees up to senior directors. The computer giant hopes the increased compensation will keep employees as the talent war in tech heats up.

RTO light
The hybrid-working pilot is now on hold. Apple delayed its three-day-a-week RTO policy indefinitely because of an increase in COVID-19 cases. Despite the public health concerns, employees will still have to go into the office at least twice a week. They’ll also have to start wearing masks.

Another freeze
Crypto has crashed, and it’s taking a bunch of people down with it. Coinbase’s stock has dropped almost 75% this year, and the company has had to grant new stock to employees. The crypto exchange has also frozen hiring, although it’ll still honor some recent offers and continue some previously scheduled interviews.
